Formed for the promotion of the visual arts. This long standing organisation hosts several local exhibitions a year, open to members and non-members alike.
- Daphne Sandham
Daphne Sandham was born and brought up in North London. The family moved in her teens to Northamptonshire, whence to Leicester Polytechnic in the late sixties - a lively time - to do a Dip A D Fine Art. After a year out,' painting landscapes and portraits, she went back to London to the Royal Academy Schools for three years postgraduate, drawing and painting from the figure, and practicing etching and lithography in the print workshop.
She moved to the seaside in 1982 and now lives with her partner and an assortment of pets in a large rambling house and garden overlooking the estuary on one side and the open sea on the other. She paints landscapes and portraits in oil, watercolours, makes pots and continues printmaking. Harwich is where you catch the boat for Holland and Germany and when they were little the children used to say there really were ferries at the bottom of the garden ......
- Love Bistro
Love food . . . Love Bistro.
Love Bistro is set in the picturesque walled gardens of the Minories at the top of East Hill in Colchester. Opened in May 2008 the Bistro is open daily offering morning coffees, breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas. Opening times are 9am - 4.30pm Monday to Saturday. Regular rotating exhibitions are shown in the Bistro and the Veranda with works for sale. The Bistro is fully licensed and available for all types of functions.The main Minories building is now home to The Colchester School of Art who are staging exhibitions on the ground floor and offering currently four art M.A courses on the first floor. THE TOWER
The Naze Tower is an historic 86ft landmark and unique visitor attraction situated on an attractive stretch of coastline at Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex. Over eight floors it houses an art gallery with three exhibitions a year, a museum on the Tower and Naze, tea rooms and a roof viewing platform with spectacular panoramic views. About Serena Hall Gallery
The Serena Hall Gallery shows modern and contemporary British art by established artists and young professional artists.
Our light and spacious three storey gallery is based in the heart of the popular seaside town of Southwold in Suffolk and displays work by artists from all over Britain including emerging talented artists from St Ives and Brighton. We also show the work of many Suffolk and Norfolk based artists whose work is shown exclusively by us.
The gallery is housed over two floors and has a medley of exhibition rooms. Our upstairs galleries has seasonal shows and solo exhibitions by selected artists, while our busy downstairs gallery is a constantly changing rolling exhibition, allowing customers to purchase work to take home with them.
